Oscar Nominations 2011: Rank The Best Picture Oscar Nominees
Christopher Nolan was robbed, ROBBED I TELL YOU. Toy Story 3 is easily at the top of the "No I'm Not, There's Just Something In My Eye" films of all time, so I genuinely think that it could or should win best picture. But, since it's Pixar and they get to run the table all the time in the animation department, I still think Inception should win. It was the most original, engaging, and lucrative movie of the year. All the critics that scoffed at Nolan's technical acumen and lack of characterization must have been racking their little brains about the various dream levels to notice the tragic, cathartic center of the flick and its examination not so much of the nature of reality but of how much our beliefs and deepest emotions toward the people in our lives shape our own personal realities. It's a movie about loss and existential despair clothed in a kickass action movie. How can people not like or appreciate that?
I also dug Winter's Bone. That is all.
