Wow! Oscars! Okay, the screenplay Oscars are the two most important to me, anyway, and I'm just so excited for all these writers. FYI: The writer award winners are the speeches everyone hangs onto, that people remember the heart of the next day. That drive the cavernous Dorothy Chandler (or wherever it is) to turn into a Hall of Echoes, where all you can hear is the screenwriter, and his/her nobes of writing thoughts, which then go on the next day to inspire the writing tike in third grade during his after lunch-hour musings. Or the 17-year-old ecrivant to get over his senioritis and produce. Happy to reduce the Oscars to insignificance? The Oscars remind everyone that Chaplin and writers inspire the scribe to pick up the pen beginning Monday morning.
