Meds and Social Skillsv
Tiffany: "What meds are you on?"
Pat: "Me? None. I used to be on Lithium and Seroquel and Abilify but I don't take them anymore, no. They make me foggy and they also make me bloated."
Tiffany: "Yeah, I was on Xanax and Effexor but I agree, I wasn't as sharp so I stopped."
Pat: "You ever take Klonopin?"
Tiffany: "Klonopin, yeah!"
Pat: "What day is it?"
Tiffany: "Ha ha"
Pat: "What about Trazodone?"
Pat: "What, it flattens you out. I mean, you are done. It takes the light right out of your eyes."
Tiffany: "Yeah it does... I'm tired, I want to go."
Veronica: "No, no, no, no, no, we haven't even finished the salad yet or the duck. I made the fire and ice cake."
Tiffany: "I said I'm tired. Are you going to walk me home or what?" Pat: "You mean me?"
Tiffany: "Yeah, you. Are you going to walk me home?"
Pat: "You have poor social skills. You have a problem."
Tiffany: "I have a problem? You say more inappropriate things than appropriate things. You scare people."
Pat: "I tell the truth. You're mean."
After an awkward meeting, dinner is equally as strange between Pat and Tiffany as they discuss various mood-atering drugs they've taken in the past. Though Pat and Tiffany clash slightly at first, this interaction could just be the beginning of something special.

Not a Datev
Tiffany: "Why did you order Raisin Bran?"
Pat: "Why did you order tea?"
Tiffany: "Because you ordered Raisin Bran."
Pat: "I ordered Raisin Bran because I didn't want any mistaking it for a date."
Tiffany: "It can still be a date if you order Raisin Bran."
Pat: "It's not a date... So how's your thing going? Your dancing thing"
Tiffany: "It's good. How's your restraining order going?"
Pat: "I wouldn't exactly call the restraining order my thing but getting back with Nikki is and I'm doing pretty well, except for a minor incident at the doctor's office."
Tiffany: "And the so-called incident with the weights"
Pat: "Yeah, that was a thing with my parents. How'd you lose your job?"
Tiffany: "By having sex with everybody in the office"
Tiffany: "I was very depressed after Tommy died. It was a lot of people."
Pat: "Well you don't have to talk about it."
Pat: "How many were there?"
Tiffany: "I know."
Pat: "I'm not going to talk about it anymore."
Pat: "Can I ask you one more question? Were there any women?"
Pat: "What was that like?"
Pat: "Jesus Christ. Was it like an older woman, a sexy teacher trying to seduce her?"
Tiffany: "Made me sit on her lap and do things? Yeah"
Pat: "What? You sat on her lap? She told you what to do?"
Pat: "Oh my god"
After making it perfectly clear (via the choice of his food order) that they are not on a date, Pat gets a bit turned on when Tiffany describes in detail the very personal reason she was fired from her last job.

Can You Forgive?
Tiffany: "I was a slut. There will always be a part of me that is dirty and sloppy, but I like that, just like all the other parts of myself. I can forgive. Can you say the same for yourself, f***er? Can you forgive? Are you capable of that?"
When prodded by Pat about her promiscuous way of dealing with her husband's death, Tiffany snaps and goes off on Pat about his own problems. She forces him to think about how he is dealing with his stresses and if his method is any better than hers.

Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me
Tiffany: "You know, for a while, I thought you were the best thing that ever happened to me. But now I'm starting to think you're the worst."
Pat: "Of course you do. Come on, let's go dance."
Tiffany, now in love with Pat, is hurt when she thinks Pat is still hung up on his wife, Nikki, so Tiffany gets drunk, yells at Pat and resists performing in the dance competition. Pat however gets her back in line.

Tiffany and Tommyv
Ronnie: "Tiffany's coming over."
Pat: "What happened to Tommy?"
Ronnie: "He died. Don't bring it up... Tiffany, this is Pat."
Pat: "You look nice."
Tiffany: "Thank you"
Pat: "I'm not flirting with you."
Tiffany: "Oh, I didn't think you were."
Pat: "Just practicing... How'd Tommy die?"
Oh Pat, that's just the opposite of what you were supposed to say. Then again, this awkward meeting might just show Tiffany that like her, you have some issues as well.

Pat: "What the?! Let me just break it down for you guys. This whole time you're rooting for this Hemingway guy to survive the war and to be with the woman that he loves, Catherine Barkley."
Dolores: "It's four o'clock in the morning, Pat."
Pat: "And he does, he does, he survives the war after getting blown up. He survives it and he escapes to Switzerland with Catherine. You think he ends it there? No! She dies, dad! I mean, the world's hard enough as it is, guys. Can't someone say, hey let's be positive? Let's have a good ending to the story?"
Dolores: "Pat, you owe us an apology."
Pat: "Mom, I can't, for what, I can't apologize. I'm not going to apologize for this. You know what I will do? I will apologize on behalf of Ernest Hemingway because that's who's to blame here."
Pat Sr.: "Yeah, have Ernest Hemingway call us and apologize to us too."
After reading "A Farewell to Arms," Pat barges into his parents' bedroom in the middle of the night to rant about the book. Though he's clearly bothered by how the novel played out, his folks are not wanting to hear of this, at least not at that early morning hour.

Pat: "I hate my illness and I want to control it. This is what I believe to be true: You have to do everything you can and if you stay positive you have a shot at a silver lining."
Either saying what the doctor wants to hear or truly happy, Pat explains his new outlook on life in that if you stay positive you can turn your life around.

Up, Up, Up, Upv
Dolores: "I'm making crabby snacks and homemades."
Pat: "Come on, dad, be nice. She's making crabby snacks and homemades. Come on, dad!"
Pat Sr.: "What are you so up about?"
Dolores: "You're very happy."
Pat: "I'm happy."
Pat Sr.: "No, you're so up, up, up."
Pat: "Isn't that a good thing?"
Pat Sr.: "No, you're just up, up, up, up, I don't know what that is. Are you taking the proper dosage of your medication?"
Pat: "Am I taking the right dose? Of course I am"
Pat Sr.: "Okay, are you taking maybe a little bit too many or something?"
Pat: "No, if I was taking that I'd be on the floor, dad."
Only out of concern for Pat's well being, father Pat Sr. asks if everything is okay with Pat as he's been overly happy lately. Pat Sr. suspects it's something related to Pat's medications but later notices that there is a lady involved.

As part of his recovery, Pat has put together a plan to get his life back on track and get his wife back. This goal has him motivated to change from the better, though he's focused more on Nikki than his own well being.
