The list omits two of Lillywhite's early production efforts, namely by The Brains, an Atlanta band, somewhat New Wave and neo-prog. He helmed both their excellent first album, "The Brains" (1980) and its followup, "Electronic Eden" (1981). The Brains the released an EP (not produced by Lillywhite) a year later. Public response to their efforts remained luke-warm outside the confines of a rabid fan-base in Atlanta and Charlotte. The Brains were fronted by Tom Grey, who penned what later became a huge hit for Cyndi Lauper, "Money Changes Everything." He went on to on-again/off-again collaborative songwriting with Lauper over the course of the 1980's. Lillywhite's memory is understandably foggy with regards to his affiliation with The Brains. Recently in conversation he was hard-pressed to remember them at all, such being the sheer volume of his production efforts since 1976 (Ultravox!), mostly with brand-name bands such as U2, The Rolling Stones, Phish, Dave Mathews et al. The two albums by The Brains also disappeared from view shortly thereafter. I diligently searched many years for them and always came up empty-handed and disappointed as I felt these to be two of the classier albums released during the New Wave surge of 1977-1982. Finally, however, just a few weeks ago these long-lost pearls finally re-emerged from the mists of time. They might be found at this download site: http://www.soundsbox.com/artist.php?a=11616&artist=the-brains. Each album sells for less than $1.40. I hope you enjoy them. esnead
