Survivor Season Rankings

Earl, Yau-Man and Dreamz saved this season from being the worst

ever. It had an unlikable & forgettable cast that reiterated 

the dangers of casting recruits, the horrible Luxury vs. Nothing twist that 

easily predicted challenge outcomes, and didn’t really elaborate on

the location. Fiji did have the epic blindside of Edgardo, Earl & Yau-Man

emerging as a likable strategic duo, & the car/immunity deal that left us

all on the edge of our seats. The first unanimous win and Yau-Man

proving Brain over Brawn was awesome as well.

A lot of things about this season are forgettable. Even though it could be the mostly

unlikable cast, there were moments in this season, like Rafe’s comedy, the brutal first

challenge, Bobby Jon and Jamie’s feud (the most hilarious feud on Survivor),

Danni’s unexpected win when her allies were taken out, and Stephenie’s unexpected

aggressive gameplay. That was basically all of what Guatemala could provide, with the

only reason it’s better than Thailand is that it didn’t feel like an obligation to watch.

This is when Survivor fans really had enough of predictability. Filled with unlikable

characters and zombie gameplay (later expanded upon to a life-sucking degree on

Redemption Island), each episode was just something to get through as opposed

to enjoying the entertainment Survivor normally provides. Although, this season did have

Brian playing one of the best Survivor games ever, the fake merge that screwed over

Shii-Ann, one of the most entertaining pre-merge characters in Robb Zbacnik, and the

Attack Zone challenge and the Final Immunity Challenge still to this day being

2 of the best challenges in Survivor history. I was questioning myself whether

I should be entertained or uncomfortable with the Ted & Ghandia incident,

as many Survivor viewers were when watching it.

Every Survivor season is a good season, even this one. Despite Boston Rob’s 

most dominant game & Phillip’s entertaining personality, everyone else (even

Russell) tainted the season with unlikablity and the worst gameplay in Survivor

history that even the audience who would normally get a kick out of dumb decisions

(i.e. Micronesia) can’t bear to watch. Also, the eponymous Redemption Island failed

to contribute to the overall storyline and took away the epicness of even the most

basic Survivor vote-offs.
