TC Disrupt San Francisco 2011 Competing Companies By Lons [150 more lists]
The 2011 TechCrunch Disrupt conference was held in San Francisco, California, from September 12th through the 14th. The conference, presented by the technology and startup-focused blog TechCrunch, featured pitches from 31 promising recent startups live on stage, along with panel discussions and guest speakers. (29 startups were admitted in advance, 2 were chosen from the demo pit by the audience.) From these selections, a variety of awards were presented, including a grand prize winner, the Israeli startup Shaker. (Shaker is a Facebook app that functions as a virtual bar, allowing users to meet new people online while chatting, sharing photos and tweets and listening to music.) The runner-up company was Prism Skylabs, with Bitcasa, Cake Health, Farmigo, TalkTo, and Trello rounding out the finalists.
