Saying hockey fans are passionate is quite the understatement. As these 13 hockey riot videos prove, hockey fans are just plain nuts. With riots dating back to the 1950s, hockey fans have needed little motivation to start tipping cars and burning their jerseys in the streets after a big game.

Though the 2010 Vancouver hockey riots got perhaps the most press coverage, hockey fans have been rioting around the world for decades. They don't discriminate either, looting and burning things after both big wins and big losses. Montreal takes the cake for their riots, including taking six of the 13 spots on this list. Heck, Montreal fans even riot at the celebration parade after winning the Stanley Cup.

Vancouver Hockey Riot 2011: Flash Bang

In this clip from the June 15, 2011, riots in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, after the Canucks lost game seven of the Stanley Cup Finals to the Boston Bruins, one fan takes a flash bang, right to the balls and the painful moment is conveniently caught on tape. Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Vancouver Hockey Riot 2011: Canadian Blake Griffin

Also from the nonsense on the streets of Vancouver after the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals, one extremely bright young man gives his best impression of NBA player Blake Griffin jumping over a car to win the 2011 Slam Dunk Contest. As you can see, he fails completely, instead falling into the burning car and rolling around for a while before jumping off. The commentator says it best by noting, "now that's an idiot."

Vancouver Hockey Riot 2011: Man of Reason

While many in Vancouver on the night of the 2011 game seven loss to the Boston Bruins were acting foolishly, there was at least one person with their head on straight, as shown in this clip. Rather than joining in on the looting, the lone fan in the Canucks jersey tries to push the mob away from a store window. Unfortunately, as shown about 3:13 in, the crowd disagrees and begins to assault the do-gooder.

Montreal Hockey Riot 2010: Round One

Despite being the winningest NHL franchise in history, Montreal Canadiens fans cherish every win, as shown in this best hockey riot video from 2010. What starts as an excited celebration turns into a full-scale riot in the streets of Montreal. You'd think that they'd won the Stanley Cup or something, but nope, they just beat the Washington Capitals in the first round.

Montreal Hockey Riot 2010: Round Two

Clearly not learning from the mistakes made after round one of the 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Montreal Canadiens fans rioted again after the team defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins in round two. After they screamed "ole, ole, ole" in the streets and lifted a flimsy replica Stanley Cup, fans looted nearby businesses in joy. Unfortunately for the Habs fans, not even two riots could bring them the championship as the Canadiens lost the Eastern Conference Finals just a few weeks later.
