Nina Hartley here. Nonsense Blue: your "stats" are completely bogus. The death rate for adult performers is no higher than for other people in a similar age cohort. If you take a look at the "dead p**n stars" site, you'll see that not that many have died over the past 30 years and most have died from accidents, not drug ODs or suicide.

The entertainment business, mainstream as well as adult, is a very harsh business, peopled by those who need attention. More comics have killed themselves than have adult performers. "Most" are NOT drug addicts, either, so please get your facts from somewhere other than your behind, or keep risking sounding like a completely judgmental ignoramus.

Have YOU tried to get through one nursing course? Biology? Anatomy? Chemistry? Physiology? Psychology? Can you start an IV? Take a medical history? Do a physical assessment of an injury? Change a dressing safely? Remove stitches? Record vital signs? Deliver a baby? Help a woman learn to breast feed her infant? I thought so.

To set the record straight, there have been exactly FIVE cases of HIV detected since 2004, four in '04 and 1 last year, when a new performer was found to be HIV+, after she had done a BJ scene. The other cases were either people being screened before their first scenes (and therefore kept out of the talent pool), or were "civilians" (non-performers) who were just getting tested on their own.
