The Best Movie Villains of All Time
My list is really short right now mostly because I'm really tired, and also because I am in the process of broadening my movie range. For me, what makes a really good villain is: mystery, misfortune and tragedy for them that compels them to be evil, and a soft, almost humorous side. With those particular traits, villains aren't just maniacs without character and a story. They are portrayed as people with twisted, painful stories that mess with their sanity. Obviously killing is disgusting and turning people into meat pies is unthinkable, BUT there's more to the story than that grimy surface. Darker stories are so deep in their meanings, and it is key in such stories to have a deep villain to parallel the storyline and its imagery (or at least really good opposing forces... man vs. man, man vs. himself, man vs. nature, that bring juice and character to the plot as well as mystery).

30 Minutes or Less, The Phantom of the Opera, The Phantom of the Opera“ I guess whether he is a villain or not is sort of controversial, depending on whether you are speaking of the book, the musical, or one of the many movie versions (because the Phantom is quite different in each one). He's kind sort of a mix, but I think he's awesome. „ - 5
