A list of the best robot movies. These are films featuring robots, androids, gynoids, cyborgs, and every other type of robot you can think of. We think we've included of the best ones, but if you believe we missed one please feel to add it the list yourself. As machines have advanced throughout human history, it has of course been inevitable that we would try to recreate ourselves. The necessary level of technology, however, wasn't reached until the 20th century, and it was not until the advent of filmmaking that we could truly see what a fully functional robot should be. One of the first and most famous robots was unquestionably "Maria" from the silent film "Metropolis".
