The Comics Journal compiled a list of the top 100 graphic novels of all time. The Comics Journal is one of the more reputable publications in the comic industry. The Jounal's list of the 100 best graphic novels of all time includes a wide variety of books. The TCJ graphic novel list is actually considered a little controversial. The Comics Journal is published by Fantagraphics Press, the list is considered controversial because their are a larger than normal amount of Fantagraphics books on the list. It boils down to a DC or Marvel publication making a best of list and loading up on their books.
