Top 10 Fox News Fails of 2009

By phact0rri | Los Angeles
Most of us know that Fox news is to news as MTV is to music. Since the 2003 court ruling giving the channel the right to lie on TV, they realized they didn’t have to be a credible news source as long as they are entertaining. And they do not disappoint (in being entertaining). The problem is what most of us find entertaining is the train wreck they call "reporters" and "news".

Chrysler has gotten a Stay by the supreme court… we think?
One of the most entertaining qualities of live TV is when you make a mistake and cannot POSSIBLY cover it up. This footage of Fox Business takes that to a whole new level.

First of all, the correspondent at the beginning was like a deer in front of headlights...you'd think that was the funniest part of this video. Oh, I assure you it's not.

Reporting on Chrysler getting a stay by the Supreme Court, the anchor seemed to have the information a little before everyone else on the team. At least the male correspondent was honest about it. Notice how SHE had absolutely NO qualms in reporting a headline with no facts to back it up.

Easily one of the most awkward and yet funny clips of Live TV screw ups I’ve seen in such a long time. Thank you Fox!

Ridiculing the Canadian Military After Four Soldiers Died in Afghanistan
We all have our awkward joke moments. God knows I've had a few of my own (please read this article for more). Hell, even the last President had his fair share of awkward moments with the press (any joke he told was met with nervous laughter, kind of like if your torturer/executioner tried a joke about the weather in between pain sessions). But even Dubya himself did not insult an entire country on the day that four more of their soldiers died in Afghanistan.

Yes Fox News decided to joke about Canada’s military showing it off as weak and ineffectual while they were mourning for their soldiers. Of course, Canadian comedian Rick Mercer felt the tasteless joke, and lashed back at Fox delivering this gem, “If you’re going to do satire, three of the most important rules are you have to tell the truth, you can’t be a bully and don’t be an a--hole,”

Mercer proved that even if Fox News' jokes aren’t funny, seeing them get PWNED sure is. I don’t think this went over the epic threshold of fail, but wow that must have hurt.

    Fake Footage Call out
It’s hard not to love Jon Stewart, as he comes off as extremely well informed for a satirist. And more to the point, he actually seems to take news and politics more serious than one would be led to believe. Well, the well informed host of the Daily Show opened a few months ago by calling out Fox news for airing footage that was supposed to be showing a Tea Baggers rally hosted by Bachman, when in fact it was footage taken from a 9/12 rally which had been aired months before. Stewart said “If I didn’t know any better I’d think they just put two days together and acted like they didn’t...”

It should be noted that Fox news has since apologized for the obvious error, and actually thanked John Stewart and Comedy Central for discovering the error. It was just funny, until they made the apology, then it easily fell into the uncomfortable fail territory.

Call of Duty Modern Warefare 2:
Fox news ran a panel accusing Modern Warfare 2 as breeding ground for Terrorists. Completely ignoring facts like, oh, I don't know, the player is undercover, and trying to stop the terrorists. This truly became a fail when the guest defended his own points and everyone else completely ignored everything he said. They weren't arguing… they were just acting like they didn’t hear what he was saying. Way to run a fair and balanced discussion.

    Sarah Palin’s book Tour:
Like the above Teabagging, Fox’s Gregg Jarrett aired footage “just now coming to us” regarding Palin’s book tour. However the footage was later proven to have come from a Palin rally in 2008, from a Miami Fox Affiliate’s newscast. Yet again, Fox comes to apologize like they didn’t learn from it the first time it was done.

Beck tells the Elderly to get the $$#@ out!
During the US health care reform, conservatives and Fox News made up this theory that doctors and the government were going to create panels to decide whether the elderly were to continue to get treatment or if they were to be put to death. I'm not kidding. So Beck said “I am never to say Fire, but RUN FOR YOUR LIVES”, telling the elderly to leave the country. (Glen Beck, not the popular/talented Scientologist/singer).

And people wonder why he’s lost 62 sponsors this year.

    Fox geography Fail
Fox geography Fail Top 10 Fox News Fails of 2009 Television
This is a pretty popular low moment in the year of Fox news, where they placed a graphic map of the Middle East, where Iraq is labeled “Egypt”. However, the sad bit is that it was not only used once (in an effort to educate America on Middle East matters), but it was actually aired multiple times that week. This particular entertainment flub was made viral when posted on Failblog.org.

Sadly, I think that the average Fox watcher probably believed that Iraq was now called Egypt...or like most people, sadly, just didn't know or care about the difference.

Fox Covered the Million Man March?
Fox New’s Neil Cuvato had been claiming that the Teabagger coverage they have been doing is not in excess to other important rallies they have covered, “We were there for the Million Man March, even though, as I pointed out, it turned out to be well shy of a million men.” Unfortunately for Fox, the last Million Man March was in October of 1995, and Fox News didn’t start airing until October of 1996.

    Glenn Beck: Spelling Bee Champion
And to wrap up this illustrious list of the greatest Fox News Moments, how can we forget the time Glenn Beck was trying to be witty with Obama’s Administration and tried to spell out Oligarchy. Supposedly he knew it was misspelled, according to fox and he was just playing stupid. Who knew Glenn Beck had to PLAY stupid?

These are Fox's "top ten" failures in 2009? Wow. Pretty amazing. I'm going to have to start watching Fox, if these are the worst failures they had for the entire year.

by Brian at April 15, 2010 20:16
Excellent stuff, but so many others ... you could do this for each year. Remember the "Jennifer Lopez blow job" comment? The George W Bush cousin debacle? The time Oliver North gave away his Marine unit's location in the first days of the Iraqi invasion? (can anyone say "TREASON"???) The time Billow Reilly shouted down a teenager whose father died in the 911 attacks??? What a massive black eye on America's integrity this silly channel is..

by P6 at April 15, 2010 20:11
Great article. FOX News is a joke to well over 250 million Americans. But the millions that watch it outweigh those who watch any other singular network, so FNC is technically the most popular in the nation. It's like saying McDonald's is the best menu in the USA, because it's more popular than anything else. Even funnier, the fans of FNC are incapable of comprehending the difference between popularity and virtue. ..!..

by Mr Kennedy at March 19, 2010 11:11
Clearly the writer of this list is one of the 49% of leftards that get their "news" from the unfunny propagandist called Jon Stewart; thus slurring average Americans as "teabaggers". Perhaps the writer is looking for a job at CNN or MSNBC? Apparently the writer is the only person in the country who saw all the massive coverage of the 9/12 rallies on the other channels. And apparently the author is the only one who is unaware of the end-of-life-counselling (death panels) that were originally in the bill, then taken out when Sarah Palin busted them, then quietly reinstated again. The author appears to have the intelligence of your average MSNBC viewer :(

by emorris at March 01, 2010 10:15
Fox news exists because of the basic poor education level of too many Americans. What Fox news says is what these Americans want to hear, therefore they believe it. When your agenda is based upon ignorance, hatred, racism and backed by moneyed establishment; this is the content to expect. The Teabaggers are of the same vein. They talk of smaller government and then say they want more military. They talk about closing the boarders, but then hire Mexicans for their gardens and small "entrepreneur" businesses. They are nothing but republican stooges. Goebbels is alive and well!

by PolkadotKing at March 05, 2010 17:22

  by anonymous at January 19, 2010 05:44
whenever someone tries to motivate you with fear, don't trust them! Find the facts. The only thing we have to fear is Fox News.

by eric at February 13, 2010 03:59
you got that right.

by howdyhigh at January 27, 2010 16:07
That is ignorant. Every news channel makes errors. This just happens to be a list of fox news errors, not ABC or CBS. But, those news channels could have the same kind of list.

  by anonymous at March 13, 2010 09:37
Very consistent mistakes, wouldn't you say? Always skewed to make the left look bad...any screw ups about the right?... nope.

by emorris at March 01, 2010 10:40
Why do you think that these are mistakes? Just look at how many times they have made these kinds of "mistakes". When your agenda is not to report news but to create "news", you are no longer a news agency.

  by anonymous at February 02, 2010 00:08
You're ignorant to somehow think Fox News doesn't use fear tactics. Have you watched the beck or orielly for more than two minutes? Those news channels could easily have a list of errors, as humans make mistakes. The problem is that Fox News routinely makes these "errors" and regularly presents them in ways to favor whatever bullshit they're trying to push down everyone's throats. In light of that, they make other silly, obvious errors, showing their lack of reliability for most "news".

  by anonymous at January 19, 2010 01:04
where is the 1 trying to demonize al franken?

  by anonymous at January 18, 2010 20:19
That's right, just like Jack said below "DUMB LIERS." Ahh, the irony.

by Richard at January 18, 2010 19:58
I'm trying to understand how Fox news can have all those "lier's", "idiot's", and "cartoon people" but still be at the top of the rating chart for so many years. Some of you really need to "stop drinking the Kool-Aid."

by emorris at March 01, 2010 10:43
They are popular because of the number of ignorant/racist/scared white people in this country is too great. And yes I am a "angry white man". However I am not angry for the same reasons as the NASCAR idiot dads out there that watch Fox "news".

by Jason at January 27, 2010 00:32
Your argument is based on the premise that's it must be true because it's popular. By your logic Briteny Spears is one of the greatest artists that ever lived. Show's like Jersey Shore, Flavor of Love and Bad Girls are quality programming and they all deserve an emmy. The similarities these things all share in common with Fox news is that they are easy to digest and don't require any real thought. They appeal to the lowest common denominator and reinforce the viewers mental torpor. It's like a sign my old debate teacher had on his desk. "What is right is not always popular and what is popular is not always right".

by Kevin Rodgers at January 13, 2010 22:30
Jack said it best. White trash and liars. A Ha made another great point. If there is a list for CNN etc. put it up. THERE IS NONE, IDIOT !!!

by A Ha at January 03, 2010 11:32
Surprise, surprise, the right wing trolls are using their non logic to support the non logic of Fox: If there's a "list for CNN, MSNBC," etc. put it up or shut up. You right wing nut jobs are so lame that all you can do is whine and use bad grammar.

  by anonymous at December 28, 2009 06:55
The ignorance of the American public never ceases to amaze me. You all are going to get exactly what you asked for and the taxes to pay for it. We will see how much you all like the new health care plan when your taxes are nearing 50% so that the illegal immigrants that are about to be given citizenship (so that Obama can squeeze out another term) receive government subsidized health care. Yes socialism, AKA the democratic not so hidden agenda, is a four letter word if you believe in the principle on which this country was founded.

by emorris at March 01, 2010 10:59
My taxes are already close to 50% and all I get for it from the Feds is war. Why do you think your insurance copay not to mention paycheck deductions are not a tax than what is? As for immigrants; this country is made up of 100% immigrants. Are you against the Irish, the Italians, the Poles, the English, the Germans? No I didn't think so. Teabagger ignorant racism! Squeeze out a term? Who on the right is a viable candidate? Sarah imPalin? btw Both O'bama and McCain where for a national health plan. That was because that is what the country wants. Socialism? The only socialism your kind supports is National Socialism, do you remember what that is? I wonder. So I guess we should defer to Wall Street for our safety and abolish the :FDA,NHTSA,FBI,CIA,NSA,GOA,etc.....? So let's hear what the teabaggers are for. Are you for anything? When you say smaller government, what does that mean? I think what you really want is The United States of ignorant White Men who don't want to pay for anything.

  by anonymous at February 02, 2010 00:11
you don't know what socialism is.

by steve at January 05, 2010 12:09
congratulations on automatically believing every little thing all the right wing extremist sources say without actually taking a fact into account... republicans claimed medicare would be the beginning of socialized medicine too.. oops, now they claim that medicare is awesome and shouldn't be trifled with. "immigrants given citizenship".... give me a break.

by Visiting Canadian at December 21, 2009 20:28
I watched that Glen Beck piece with the AARP representative. If Canada's health care system is such a "Nightmare" why do the vast majority of Canadians support it. For over 40 years our single payer system has worked and worked well. Waiting times for procedures, sure, there are some. But everyone gets the services they require. Pre-existing condition? In Canada we call that your medical history. It's important for your Doctor to know this as part of your treatment. If you're a Canadian citizen or legally in Canada you can not be denied medical services. His claim that the elderly are ignored is a bold faced lie!!! My 82 year old Mother in Law was taken to the hospital for treatment of a bleeding ulcer recently. The ambulance and hospital stay were completely covered by the health care system. The level of her care and treatment was superb ..... The nurses and doctors were fantastic. My Mother in Law also has advanced Dimentia. Didn't that idiot Beck say about patients with Dimentia? He's basically a fear monger who doesn't know what he's talking about. Canada's National health care system was voted into law by our Conservative Party. They saw it as an important economic advantage for Canadian companies over US based firms. The recession is officially over in Canada. None of our banks collapsed and house prices are still rising. See, sometimes the Conservative do have a good idea.

by Snorlax at December 21, 2009 08:03
Fox "News" is PROPAGANDA. They have absolutely NO actual news because they have absolutely NO real journalists to report it in an ethical fashion. This has all been very well documented in various websites over the last decade. A FOX "News" affiliate even got a judge to rule that they do NOT have to tell the truth in their "News" broadcasts, that it is okay for them to knowingly tell LIES on the airwaves. FOX "News" is garbage. Anybody who watches it is a moron with a double-digit IQ.

Any list that would include both Jon Stewart and Rick Mercer stripping the propogandists of Fox News down to their next to nothings is so much total epic WIN!!!!!

by The Central Scutinizer at December 20, 2009 16:45
The most troubling part of their recent poll that added up to 120% isn't the fact that they can't add, It's that they took the data from Rasmussen (The goto source for all your GOP needs) that had 5 options that did equal 100% and changed it to 3 options that added up to 120%. In the original poll,"Somewhat Likely" and, "Very Likely" added up to 59%. When Fox got done with it, it added up to 94%. They combined options, used the numbers for one option twice and discarded the, "Not Sure" option. Fox purposely manipulated the data. Misinformation can be considered an honest or perhaps a dumb mistake. Disinformation isn't a mistake. The error is done purposely to advance an agenda. Fox IS the disinformation channel.

by JMM at December 20, 2009 14:48
I can't believe the "poll" where the total percentage added up to 120% didn't even make the list. It was a bunch of crap from the global warming deniers club and they said the numbers would be higher if the hacked emails had come out before the poll was taken, which they had.

by anonymous at December 19, 2009 11:52
Wait!!! I have an idea...instead of attacking each other to make ourselves feel good, maybe we should work on making a difference so that way pieces of sh*t like you a**holes could have something better to do with your pathetic lives. Grow up, please.

Funny. I seem to recall this time when there was that Clinton guy in office. Everyone I knew was employed, the stock market was doing well, land values were up, the deficit left by Reagan and Bush had been ELIMINATED and we had a budget SURPLUS. Then, just as it seemed america was becoming somewhere great again, we got Bush and in 8 years, employment is way down, markets are down, deficit is the highest it's been since the last time we had Republicans in office, etc. If you asked me who was 'destroying' our country, I'd have to say that the pattern is becoming pretty clear.

by Riff the Canadian at December 12, 2009 21:30
I'm actually surprised Hannity addressed the issue. Usually they just pretend these things didn't happen and sweep them under the rug. It was worth it to see his tight-lipped, shit-eating grin when the words, "Jon, you were right." clawed their way out. Let's hope that when our children become oligarhical terrorists after we bring Modern Warfare 2 into our homes that they target this ridiculous little network first. I tried to work in something about Egypt, but I didn't want to push it.

by Lousy Propaganda at December 11, 2009 11:43
Why would anyone want to watch a news station that isn't just biased, but BLATANTLY biased is beyond me. Probably because I can actually THINK FOR MYSELF, instead of letting Faux News spoon feed me this crap and pretend that I'm informed and up to date. Political affiliations aside, I don't watch new programs that PROACTIVELY ATTACK the opposition because if it's come to that they've lost objectivity, and in my mind CREDIBILITY. Anyone on the left or the right can't argue against that. Other stations can be biased, but Fox is on a whole other level. Anyone that would argue against that is either a fox affiliate, or too ignorant for their own good. (Hard line conservatives we mean you, the world is changing and isn't coming back, you missed the boat) If you trust Fox for reliable news on TV, you probably think the National Enquirer is a well written news paper. God help you...Morons.

Maybe a lil Global Warming will thaw your brains out...wait thats a lefty scam also. Well maybe a brain scan to see if any of you lefties really have one, but wait that will not be covered by the massive lefty take over of health care either. Give it up at least Fox does report both sides of the story.

Or maybe they can lie and go to war so the vice presidents buddies rake in the dough, Oh wait thats a republican scam.

by Joe at December 12, 2009 14:11
Did you not just read the accompanying article???

  by anonymous at December 11, 2009 13:08
As "Lousy Propaganda" said above, anyone who thinks Fox doesn't take media bias to a new low is "too ignorant for their own good." I think you have proved his point.

by phact0rri at December 11, 2009 09:56
you could.... actually read the news and then do research as apposed to believing everything you hear on ANY biased news network.

  by anonymous at December 11, 2009 01:19
If I sat through Bush for eight years, God will reward me and allow me to watch you all squirm for seven more years of Obama. Suck on that for a bit. I win.

by Michael at December 14, 2009 12:04
Why would you ever WISH that? Do you understand the ignorance in that comment? "We had a horrible 8 years because of our president. Hopefully your guys gives us another bad years so that we feel put out." Wouldn't you hope that our nation would flourish under the presidency it is rather than fail miserably? I may not have voted for McCain, but I sure think that if He'd won I would wish him the best..

by Totally at December 22, 2009 23:40
That's exactly the difference between the right and left. Left: Criticize their own party/president. They hope that the (D/R) President does well for the country. RIght: Glorify their own party. Glorify their (R) President while hope the (D) President fails, no matter the cost.

by percy hugo at February 13, 2010 21:25
You mean to tell me that the political left was lined up in the hope that George W. Bush did well? Would that be like Harry Reid(D-NV) saying "this war is lost", just a few years before Joe "three Iraqs" Biden decided that Iraq was a major achievement for the Obama administration? I want Obama to fail, since what he believes is right for the country is different from my belief, but that's it. I don't have anything personal against the man, I don't know him, but I don't agree with his approach to governing, so I hope he fails. It's not the cost of his failure I am worried about, it's the cost of his success.

  by anonymous at February 02, 2010 10:32
exactly, not to mention the general right: self-centered imposing bigots left: care about everyone, freedom

  by anonymous at December 11, 2009 01:10
Fox News claimed to be part of the Million Man March. That's just a lie no matter how you spin it. Fox "News"?.

  by anonymous at December 11, 2009 01:07
"Other networks" blah blah blah. Fox News is pollution and so are you.

by ANNonymous at December 10, 2009 21:38
Bet it took a lot of work to dig these up. The other networks are falling out of the trees with these type of mistakes but don't trouble yourself to show them here. You might spill your Kool-Aid.

  by anonymous at February 02, 2010 10:34
i love the rhetoric that keeps spilling out from these types of comments, ie not understanding socialism/communism, using "kool-aid" though the reference is about cults and the far right. losers, learn to read. do some actual inquisitive work for yourself instead of being a parrot for a bunch of people that just want to control you, and don't give a shit about you (ie your super conservative leaders).

by Joe at December 12, 2009 14:12
Examples, please...

by George B at December 11, 2009 10:52
Yeah, all networks make mistakes. The business is very fast paced and errors will happen, but many of the "Mistakes" that Fox makes - like showing file footage of a Palin rally from the 2008 election cycle recently in 2009 when her book came out to illustrate the "crowds" at her signing events couldn't have been an innocent "mistake" - how can you be supplied with footage showing the actual event, but by mistake go to the Palin file, and mistakenly hunt down video showing large cheering crowds at a rally held during the election to air instead?? Fox's "mistakes" are only called that when they get caught by others and exposed for intentionally misleading their viewers!

  by anonymous at December 20, 2009 21:40
I work in the Fox video library, it was no mistake.

  by anonymous at December 10, 2009 19:09

Wow get over it, You could find ten times the amount of BS on other networks. You idiots that elected Obama will reap what you sowed. Only unlike normal honest people you retards will still deny and shift blame. FAIL>

  by anonymous at February 02, 2010 10:39
Faux routinely uses scare tactics and only bitches about the other side. When bush was in, faux news was always like "terrorists!" or "everything is great!!" while trying to shut down any coherent, progressive, good thought. THat's the problem with this in-group out-group mentality, and the amount of ignorant people a part of it - you don't care about getting what's best for everyone, you just care about being right and stroking your ego. News flash, your hyperconservative ideologies would, if instated, bring about an oppressive dictatorship and ultimately the apocalypse.

by Scooby at December 30, 2009 09:54
Reh Raggy! Thanks for pointing out what is obvious to the rest of us. FOX is a political arm. Your little tirade about Obama shows quite clearly that you think of FOX as part of the right wing and that you should immediately beat up the nearest liberal when someone comments on FOX. So, it's good you know they're biased and that they're a political organization, not a news organization. It's sad you can't understand why that is a bad thing or why you'd have to be a complete idiot to see such a biased organization as your primary source of information, but at least you're honest about how corrupt and biased they are. That's something.

by awww at December 11, 2009 07:15
is someone mad?? because they made the republicans favorite channel expose them for being idiotic like yourself? Leave the country if you dont want Obama as president. GET USED TO IT!!

by Star at December 11, 2009 07:06
Actaully you'd be severely hard pressed to find a worse "news" station than Faux News. The fact that you don't see this is wehat scares millions throughout the world. Aren't you proud that your government not only wants to keep you dumb, but actively promotes the stupidity of the "main street" population. I'm afraid of Americans.

  by anonymous at December 10, 2009 16:42
In #4 the ignore the guy??? The guy is about as articulate as a mute greaser... no wonder no one wanted to listen to what he had to say "I have a buddy that works somewhere an said no to these kids that wanted to buy the game." Wow, astonising insight... I'll be sure never to visit your blog you bumbling idiot.

  by anonymous at December 12, 2009 16:52
Before you call people idiots, you might want to use spell check. Just saying it really makes you look like an ignorant asshole.

by GBsuxmyballs at December 10, 2009 19:22
Thats not even what he said. "I have a buddy who works in a local retail store, he's the manager there. Bunch of different kids came in, they all said hey we're gonna get the game. He asked if they were under 17, no, he said no to them." Pay attention to something you're going to comment about before you go around calling people a bumbling idiot, because then you become a bumbling idiot yourself.

  by anonymous at February 02, 2010 10:41

  by anonymous at December 10, 2009 06:52
Glenn Beck is the scariest person on televison. He intentionally misleads millions of people on a nightly basis with the sole purpose of bringing down Obama. Fox's hypocracy in reporting over the last year can only be described as ridiculous. The reasons this is scary is because millions of americans watch Fox and actually believe it's "fair and balanced" If you fact check even the slightest bit you know this isnt true. Death panels?? Really?? go fuck yourself Beck.

  by anonymous at December 10, 2009 16:21
Fuck you

  by anonymous at December 10, 2009 22:49

  by anonymous at February 02, 2010 10:43
God would be disappointed if he saw the religious right and hyperconservatives in usa

  by anonymous at December 10, 2009 14:21
It's nice to know you are raising the level of the discourse. Beck is not the "fair and balanced" one. His show, like Keith Olbermann's or Rachel Maddow's, is a commentary on the news. If you don't like Glenn Beck, just do what you already do: don't watch him. The "death panels" that were referred to were in H.R. 109, which was a predecessor to H.R. 3200, one part of the massive health care bill under debate in the Senate. The language in that bill stated that a Health Benefits Advisory Committee(HBAC)would be able to determine whether or not funding was provided based on the actuary tables and life expectancy of a person versus the expected cost of the surgery. This is something the National Health Service in Britain already does. Calling it a "death panel" is one way of drawing peoples' attention to fact that their medical choices would be made by a beauracrat(only one person out of the nine-member HBAC was required to have any medical training) instead of by themselevs and their attending physician. But I guess "Go f&$% yourself" will work just as well to sway viewers away from Glenn Beck. The President is very lucky to have eloquent supporters such as yourself.

  by anonymous at February 02, 2010 10:45
i appreciate your articulation, though that doesn't mean theyre going to "kill grandma"

by MB at December 15, 2009 12:06
Hooray! That's the MOST intelligent comment I've read on this site!

  by anonymous at December 11, 2009 23:36
Don't bureaucrats already decide who lives and who dies? They just work for HMOs, not the government. The so-called "death panels" would be replacing one bureaucrat for another.

  by anonymous at February 02, 2010 10:44

  by anonymous at December 11, 2009 17:06

  by anonymous at December 10, 2009 15:16
"...would be able to determine whether or not funding was provided based on the actuary tables and life expectancy of a person versus the expected cost of the surgery." Out of curiosity, what do you call the people at insurance companies who deny care and even cut paying customers because they'd get a bigger bonus if they did so? "Lifespurt Gatherings," perhaps? "Healthy Diseasers?"

  by anonymous at December 11, 2009 14:44
I have to admit, "Lifespurt Gatherings" made me laugh. I call them bureaucrats(apologize for the incorrect spelling in my last entry). If you think it is a difficult and unfair process now, wait until the goverment(the people who bankrupt social security and medicaid) takes over. Socialized medicine is not a profitectomy, it's a bureaucracy transplant, and the donor list of people wanting to get their chunk of this thing is far too long.

  by anonymous at December 13, 2009 16:39
Socialized medicine has not been proposed. That is a right-wing catch phrase in a completely dishonest attempt to scare people. There are only two truly socialized medical systems in the world today. One is England's. The other is the U.S. !!!! Veteran's Administration. But, the right wing certainly will never admit to that, at least publicly.

  by anonymous at February 14, 2010 12:58
You don't think Veterans of our armed services deserve their health care? It might be a comprehensive plan, but it is not available to everybody,, or forced on everybody. It is an option open to those who made a commitment to serve in our military. It is not "socialized medicine" in that sense. Oh, and take a look at the numbers for the system. It is absolutely bleeding money, and has become horribly inefficient. Maybe it needs a bailout, or a beer summit, or the Kyoto protocols, or card check, or some stimulus money, or "hope" and "change".

kool aid kool aid kool aid when you repeat the same thing as every other dissenting ignoramous it makes you look stupid; anyone intelligent doesn't believe something because it's said over and over, they actually look into it, gathering information from many varying, legitimate sources. protip: learn what the "kool aid" is actually in reference to. you'll realize who is actually "drinking the kool aid" (hint: it's faux news watchers)
