Top 10 Most Disappointing Games of The Last Decade By PT_Tesla [39 more lists]
A game doesn't have to flop to be disappointing. Some of the the 00's biggest hits managed to bore, failed to impress and actually pissed off a lot of gamers. Here are the worst games (mostly representative of trends I hated) of the 00s and why they marked the decade where a lot of things got worse.

Brutal Legend
Easily one of the most disappointing games of the last decade. Why? Tim. FREAKING. Schafer.
The man who brought us Monkey Island, Psychonauts and Grim Fandango was making a game with JACK. FREAKING. BLACK. Even though he gets kind of annoying sometimes, the collaboration could've only been awesome...
... until we got a boring adventure game that turned into an RTS at the most inconvenient moments and forced us all to do chores to save people's lives that we'd just met.
All the relationships were underdeveloped and the twist was quite predictable.
This wasn't a "complete" game. It seems like Tim Schafer ran out of time and had to wrap everything up quickly for some reason, because the story just isn't what it should have been. All of us were moved a lot more by Psychonauts and Monkey Island, so either one of our heroes has lost his mojo, or we can all blame the developer. -

Eat Lead
Like most the teenagers in the 90's, I grew up on ultraviolent action/shooters. Duke Nukem, Doom, and Wolfenstein, just to name the classics. So when I heard they were doing a parody game about a washed up 90's shooter hero. Well, what can I say my nostalgia really made me sit up and take notice. I read all the previews salivating, ready to laugh my ass off at my childhood getting a proper roasting. That excitement ended when I put the game into my PS3.
To be fair, the game does make some good jokes about video game history and characters. But this game is no laughing matter. The graphics look like games during the early days of the PS2 (there are cut scenes where they don't even bother to animate the mouths during dialog). The A.I. leaves no difficulty at all, as the enemies stand out in the open waiting to be lined up in your cross hairs.
But the most painful part of the game has to the be the ridiculous amounts of bugs. The melee animations are awkwardly slow, and with spawning enemies you are pretty much dead if you run out of bullets.
I'd have happily trudged through it if the story was there. I was hoping for a VH1 behind the music sort of deal.
What I got was a game that took itself seriously with a few funny bits thrown in that didn't match the game at all. It was such a great concept for a game, but what we all got was a game that was boring and full of bugs... bugs you can't shoot. - 3
The Beatles: Rock Band
One of the greatest bands of all time gets one of the most unsatisfying, easy, cop-out player experiences ever unless they want to shell out for expansion packs galore to get all the songs they thought they'd be playing anyway.
For even the intermediate player, getting through the entire game on Expert proved to be easier than anything Rock Band has put out so far. Sure, John, Paul and George weren't Yngwie Malmstein, but some kind of challenge should have been applied.
After playing through the underwhelming campaign, you're left wanting to hear the songs you truly love. There's a reason using their song library is so freakin' expensive: because they have an insane amount of amazing songs. We could have used at least 100 songs in this game, but thanks to DLC becoming more and more commonplace as a cop-out for not making a complete game, we got 45. -

Madden NFL 10
Oh come on, it's practically the same as the last million versions, only with graphical updates every single time.
They need some fresh perspectives because there aren't any in this game.
It disappoints because people are shelling out the $60 bucks for basically the same game they bought last year with a new title, some new players and a few new plays and perks.
Guess they're going with the Shampoo marketing technique of wash rinse repeat, repeat, repeat forever and change nothing. No? Nobody on board with that one? Alright then. - 5
Uhm...video game based on a movie, based on a cartoon.
For all the fans of movie based video games salivating for a developer to break the cycle of inferior game creation, we all had Spider-Man 2. Since then, we all searched for an adequate movie game that never came in the 2000s. So Astro Boy serves as the representative of an entire decade of underwhelming video games based off of movies.
This decade has brought some much greater games to the table, but the 2000s didn't get a single good movie game that wasn't based on a Super Hero.
Astro Boy was the 2000s flipping the bird to anyone who bought ANY movie games, finishing off the decade with one big auto-pilot of a game (based on the one big auto-pilot of a movie.)

How does this list fit the description of the a top ten most disappointing games of the last decade? You have one game on here from 2000 (Star Trek Armada) and the rest of the games you listed except for Rig Racer 2 came out in 2009. So there were no disappointing titles from 2000-2009 besides Rig Racer 2?
Also Rig Racer 2 was a port of the 2005 game, and it was released as a BUDGET TITLE. In the future, you shouldn't get all hyped up over a budget game. Know why? Because it's called a budget title for a reason!
You are the biggest teabagging retard on the internet. Congratz.
