Performance enhancers drive sports in America and it is no accident that it is most pervasive in baseball (America's past time) and football (what macho America watches). So the next time you watch sports and see a big, buff athlete, ask yourself, "is he on the 'roids?" Your answer, will most likely be correct, seeing as this steroid era is still not behind us.

In late 2007, Pettitte admitted to using HGH (human growth hormones, though not a steroid, was still a banned substance in the Major Leagues). Taking the honest route, he admitted unlike his friend, Roger Clemens. Since then, Pettitte has been on a roll winning at least 14 games each season and adding another World Series championship to his resume.

A-Rod denied taking steroids, but in the end he came forth and told what was true all along. Taking steroids in 2003, he won the his 3rd consecutive AL home run with 47 homers (52 and 57 the 2 years prior to 2003) crown and his first MVP. Afterward, in 2004, he managed to only hit 36 homers, a distinguishable drop off. But I guess karma is on his side, he's supposedly is clean now and the result of that is a World Series ring.

One of two Vikings caught using a banned supplement in 2008. He appealed his suspension and have bounced back nicely totaling 6 sacks in 9 games so far.

    Pat Williams

One look at these him and a glance at his names and instantly one though comes to mind -brothers! he's related to Kevin Williams. Well not exactly. Although they aren't blood brothers, they seem to be locker room bros as both of them have been busted for taking water pills (a form of steroids). They have been the anchor for the Minnesota Viking's defense and it shows this year as the Vikings are ranked in the top 6 against the run.

Alright boys get off the drugs! Sorry but its not attractive to us women when you take your shirts off and have no necks and your veins are popping out of your skin. There is nothing more attractive than a man who is drug-free and hasnt cheated his way to the top of his sport.

I agree baseballfan...why do we never hear about other sports figures getting caught with steroids? Sorry but there is no way a 300lb defensive end at 6'5" can run a 4.5 40 and not be taking something illegal. SORRY

I think its ridiculous that nobody ever hears about the football players that get caught using performance enhancers yet every baseball player that gets caught you might as well tattoo them on every billboard in america. Ironic tho that the World Series Champs had two guys with positive test records.
