Most rock bands pride themselves on their music and their look. We all hear their music on the radio...now let's rate their looks. 2009 has seen many many new acts, and many comebacks. Not only are these rockers/bands/frontmen/frontwomen sexy, but they are truly among the most talented of our generation. 2009 has seen the growth of the rock music industry, bringing indie acts to the top of our hit lists. These artists have broken through barriers that have never been shot down and have proven and will continue to prove that they are forces to be reckoned with. If their voices do not make you smile and/or quiver, there is a serious problem and you should get your ears checked, STAT.
- 1Although the front woman for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs has been around for awhile, this year has really served her well. Not only did her band have a breakout album, but she lent her voice to the entire "Where the Wild Things Are" motion picture soundtrack. I definitely recommend previewing that soundtrack on iTunes if you have not done so.

- 3This Brit band has been around since 2003. In 2009, however, they were introduced to the world of TV marketing. Their song "Don't Upset the Rhythm (Go Baby Go)" was featured on a George Lopez show commercial. I have Tivo, but that commercial just happened to pop up before the start of a show I was watching. The three person band is fronted by Shingai Shoniwa, who doubles as the bass player. In every appearance, Shingai has a perfectly sculpted afro, which has become her trademark sexy look. The band has a very retro sound, as exhibited in the video to the left, entitled "Never Forget You".

When I first heard Muse I thought the lead singer was a girl, but then I saw them and I was blown away. These guys are super super sexy and more talented than, well, a lot of bands out there today. They formed in 1994 (who knew?) and are finally getting the recognition they deserve as one of the greatest bands of today. In 2009 alone they have already cashed in on the "Twilight" phenomenon, lending their talents to the "New Moon" soundtrack. Is there anything they can't do? - 5Their latest effort, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, has won critical acclaim as well as (finally!) media approval and recognition. Plus, these guys are HARDLY unattractive. The lead singer, Thomas Mars, is married to Sophia Coppola for Christ's sake. Can't get sexier than that. I hope he serenades their baby every night. Lucky baby....
