Top 10 Super Bowl FAILS of All Time

The playoffs are over now and two teams have the chance to win the ultimate prize: the Super Bowl. Players on both teams have chances gain glory, establish legends and, of course, suffer humiliation. Here's a list of the 10 biggest Super Bowl FAILS of all time and the people behind them.

    Denver Broncos

Can you declare an entire game a blunder? I’m sure Denver fans did after their team lost Super Bowl XXIV to the San Francisco 49ers 55 – 10 and suffering the worst Super Bowl loss in history. To add insult to injury, it was John Elway’s third Super Bowl loss during which he completed just 10 of 26 passes for a meager 108 yards, was intercepted twice and fumbled twice.

Years later he would redeem himself by beating the Falcons in the Super Bowl. Some claim Elway actually won two Super Bowls back to back when he defeated the Green Bay Packers the year before. As a Packer fan, however, this writer cannot back the validity of that statement.

The Super Bowl is a big game and some people just can’t handle the pressure. People like Raiders’center Barrett Robbins in Super Bowl XXXVII.

Two days before the game, Robins apparently woke up in the middle of the night in a manic depressive state, booked it down to Tijuana and was found in a dive bar, chugging tequila.

He then spent the Super Bowl in the mental ward while his teammates were blown out by the Bucs. Hard.

  3. 9

Speaking of getting blown out by the Bucs, let’s move on to number nine on our list. That would be Rich Gannon’s performance in Super Bowl XXXVII when Oakland lost 48 to 21 to Tampa Bay.

Now, you might claim that Rich Gannon didn’t have the worst Super Bowl of all time for a quarterback but he did do one thing, he broke the single game record for the most interceptions thrown at five. Three of those interceptions were returned for touchdowns. Now what makes this even worse?

Rich Gannon was the league MVP that year. In the nine years since, the Raiders have yet to put together another winning season.

    Chicago Bears

To round out the list, I had to include this music video from the Super-Bowl-winning ’85 Bears.

This is the kind of crap you can ONLY do if you WIN the Super Bowl.

Otherwise, there's really no excuse for this.
