Fascinating. It's pretty sick, it's a disturbing, yet gritty and realistic, take on drugs. There's a lot of addictions in the film that end up leading to the characters™ imprisonment in a world of delusion and reckless desperation that is subsequently overtaken and devastated by reality. It's one of the best ensemble movies I've ever seen. The film is lead by strong performances from each actor/actress. As depressing and sick as the film is, it's done so well that you feel for the self-destructive characters and hurt for them when they make stupid decisions. It's a perfect combination of great acting and great directing.

I love how this film has everything. A likable protagonist, humor, action-adventure, romance, an evil villain, heck, it's even got ghost. What it lacks in brains, it makes up for in everything else. I read that Sean Connery was supposed to be Indiana Jones. Seriously? Harrison Ford was absolutely perfect in his role. I can't imagine anybody else as Indiana Jones.

Okay, so while it's not the most widely known movie or the best acted, it is still, by far, one of the most original. So a guys wife dies and he needs to find the killer. The catch? He has short term memory loss. Another catch? It tells the story out of chronological order? Yet another catch? It tells the story from beginning to end and end to beginning at the same time. Wow. Talk about a directorial challenge! The directing is fantastic. The acting is pretty good too. The script takes the cake though. Highly original and extremely thought provoking. That makes a movie better almost instantly.

This movie is definitely a classic. The editing and cinematography are nailed to perfection. In fact, mentioning the editing is much like mentioning perfection. Stunning acting, directing, and art direction are still superb to this day. Any, "Best Films" list couldn't be complete without Citizen Kane. It truly is the pinnacle of movie perfection. Almost. But it retains its place as one of the all time greats. Even in my eyes.

I'm a bit reluctant to put this one at number 11. It's a hilarious movie, by hilarious I mean that it's witty, bloody, appropriately animatedly acted, and, of course, hilarious. The script is in perfect harmony with the rest of the movie. The dialogue and comic timing is perfect. The relationship between each character is pure genius. Not to mention the immensely likable leads in Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. The outstanding blend of action, comedy, romance, and bromance make this movie near perfect. Only problem with it is the below par ending. It just doesn't live up to the rest of the film is all.

I love this film. I'm sure that any movie goer could see this film coming from a mile away. It had to be in the top 10. Of course I had to contemplate if I should put this one or Godfather 2. I have to put this one because of one man. Marlon Brando. Not only is it exhilarating watching Michael's fall into the world that is organized crime, it's amazing watching Marlon Brando's performance of a man that loves his family more than anything, he would happily live the rest of his life out of organized crime but his family needs him to lead them, so he leads them. The directing flair is fantastic. The acting is top-notch. The dialog is great. There's no major flaws to this film. Just nit-picks.

It would be cheating to list the entire trilogy on one spot, so I'll choose the third one. I'm sure that everyone's seen it, it's a breathtaking film. The costumes, makeup, special effects - sound and visual, the story, the desperation that's conveyed so perfectly, the mightily underrated acting, the feeling that life still goes on after the movie, everything is played out so well. It's an extremely satisfying ending to a tremendous trilogy. I was going to put the second one on here for The Battle of Helms Deep alone, that would be cheating as well though, wouldn't it?

This one had to be on here. After all, it's the picture that represents this list. It goes without saying that the acting in this film is fantastic. Not once does Jack Nicholson demand sympathy for R.P. Ordinarily you would never feel sympathy for him. He's rebellious and he rebels just to rebel. There's no real underlining reason other than the "Dictator." You've got to give credit to the supporting characters as well. They help you to see how much pain R.P. is feeling. Especially come shock treatment time. This movie is like Shawshank Redemption, except much better.

It's true that this film doesn't focus on the war, it focuses on the warrior. Jeremy Renner gave a convincing performance that served to enhance this fantastic film. Full of awesome action yes, but more importantly it's full of suspense that had adrenaline coming out of my pores. It's gut wrenching. The script is good too but it's how intense it is that earns this wonderful film a place on this list.

I know, I know. Everybody loves the first one. The second one is a disappointment. It sort of . . . makes me sick, 'ya know? I think the second film is the superior film. I liked the first one. This one was just rolling on all cylinders. I felt for the characters. The kids weren't the stereotypical annoying kids (I'm talking to you Dakota Fanning - War of The Worlds.) Jeremy Renner's death was extremely sad. The desperation in in the film is conveyed so good that no matter what happens, you know it's never going to amount to anything good. After the film is over, you just know that the battle rages on. The sorrow never leaves. There's never a moment when you feel hope.

Why people call this film overrated, I'll never know. 2001 is so . . . stunning. It's hard to do a review on it. It's just so different. The change is refreshing. The visual effects, sound effects, musical score and overall ambient atmosphere set this film apart from any other movie I've ever seen. The film takes you on a journey, not through somebody's life, not like, "Once upon a time in America" but through the universe.

This is typical Kubrick genius. People often say that this film lacks the humanist touch. That's not necessarily true. Stanley Kubrick was never really known to do that in the fast place, he did manage to add a slight humanist touch in this film. The boot camp scenes were - by far - the most riveting. You could say that it opened my eyes to the fact that the average person cannot go through what they have to go through. The fact that; no matter how hard we try, we still have a breaking point. Pyle showed his, Cowboy shows his, others hide theirs. I remember this film as one of the most exiting films to lack excitement.

This film has everything. Action/Adventure, romance, drama, thriller, even comedy! This film has something for every moviegoer. The acting in this film - heck, the entire film - got overlooked by critics. I wouldn't go so far to call it the best acting performance of all time or nothing but Val Kilmer did an astonishing job as Doc Holiday. Kurt Russel is as 'bad' as ever. It's an absolute joy to watch. The cinematography is good as well. While the directing isn't extremely impressive, it's definitely above par. The story telling and character development is phenomenal, it makes up for any part of the film that isn't exemplary as the rest of it . . . not to mention the awesome mustaches.

This film may come as a bit of a surprise. Ordinarily I would put this at the top of the list. It's thin on plot and the acting is around par but the amount of laughs in this film far outweigh any flaw. I was laughing the entire film. Literally, true story. It features extremely likable characters and, of course, an insane amount of laughs. You could call this film a black comedy as you watch the demise of others. Technically it's not demise, it's just . . . creative . . . yeah, creative. The plot and characters are outrageous and the directing is awkward, this film might be a controversial addition to the list, not to mention that it was going to be number one, it's just far too great of a film to leave off the list.

This is my favorite film of all time. Some call it an overrated cult classic, some call it mind bending and smart, others even call it boring. I call it masterful. You'd never be able to tell that it was Richard Kelly's first film. He did such a wonderful job at creating a bleak, yet believable world. The acting was surprisingly very good, the script crammed a crap load of topics into one elegant package, I have no idea how but the turned into what would originally be a cohesively abstract image of a ""Mad World."" and turned it into a beautiful and extremely thought provoking and mind bending film. No matter what kind of movie you like, I suggest that you watch this one. Trust me, you might be disheartened by it's sad ending, you very well might be confused throughout the film, and you will definitely have at least one question. Despite all this, you must watch this film.
