Top 8 Tea Party Candidates Ranked By Sanity
Here are the worst, craziest and most "out there" Tea Party candidates from around the country from the 2010 midterm elections, ranked from Craziest to Least Crazy.
- 1
Michele Bachmann
Among her resume:
-Declaring that "all cultures are not equal"
-Instigating a swine flu conspiracy. How? By exposing the link that the last two epidemics have occurred under liberal presidents
-Saying "Gay marriage is probably the biggest issue that will impact our state and our nation in the last, at least, thirty years. I am not understanding that." Yup, I don't understand the grammar either.
-Believing carbon dioxide is not harmful because no studies have been conducted on the matter.
She even refused to fill out the census.
Currently running in Minnesota against challengers to her incumbency: Democratic-Farmer-Labor nominee Tarryl Clark and Independent Candidate Bob Anderson. - 2
Joe Miller
He's from Alaska and Sarah Palin backs him up. That should be more than enough to incite a few fears in the voting public.
Miller also carries the notion that he should only be allowed to answer questions he wants to answer.
And the media should be disallowed to ask any questions candidates don't want to answer, thus eradicating the whole point of the first amendment.
But they best not mess with Joe Miller.
Recently, an Alaska Dispatch editor was arrested for trying to ask questions following a town hall meeting. He tried to approach Miller, but Miller's bodyguards threatened to arrest him for trespassing, even though they were on public property. Regardless, the editor was handcuffed and held until police arrived. You can see on the video to your left what might of happened had police never arrived.
This man is terrifying; especially when he says this about having guns at his rallies, "It's not unusual in political rallies, it's not unusual in parades, to see that type of thing". - 3
Christine O'Donnell
This woman really needs no introduction. Our favorite Wicked Witch of the [East] has made more headlines than any of the actual debates this election season.
Famous for her 90s televised appearances promoting anti-masturbation on the basis that masturbation = adultery, O'Donnell has also discredited evolution and prompted conspiracy theories that scientists are creating rats with human brains.
And in the video to your right, as a comeback to her opponent's listing all the things he believes are wrong with O'Donnell campaign, she taunts him with a "you're just jealous that you weren't on Saturday Night Live."
And she laughs at her own joke. Burn. To her opponent... and the world. - 4
Sharron Angle
You might remember her as the "what was really a lemon situation into lemonade" woman. Even placed in context (counseling young pregnant rape victims), the comment still raises eyebrows. And it never considers the fact that she doesn't believe abortion should be offered to rape and incest victims. On the counseling front, this is a fail.
She is also eager to abolish the Department of Education (which tends to handle awareness about teen sex, by the way) and eliminate social security, along with anyone who supports it, judging by her treatment of her opponent Harry Reid. Scary. - 5Through his famous quote that "the fundamental reason WHY MEDICARE IS FAILING is WHY THE SOVIET UNION FAILED -- socialism doesn't work",
Paul has also made the dubious mistake of referencing the 1964 Civil Rights Act in a negative light.
Paul suggested that he wouldn't have voted for the act. Okay, how is this relevant? Does it matter?
Well, it did once he said the reason for doing so is because the law would force private business owners to serve people of all races. To take years of civil rights work and flush down the toilet is sheer lunacy. To campaign about it is almost unbelievable.
But to really understand Paul, one only needs to look at the debate between himself and Jack Conway. Or should I say, verbal abuse.
