Top NFL Quarterbacks 2012
The top NFL quarterbacks in 2012 are the top passers and superstar football players who will see the most success in the 2012 National Football League season. While it's easy to argue about how to select which quarterback is the best, each of the stars below all strive to lead their respective NFL teams to the title game, the Super Bowl. Think one quarterback is better than the bunch? Want to add one not listed or re-rank this list your way? Do all of that and more below!
If you judge NFL quarterbacks by their 2012 stats, Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers, Tom Brady of the New England Patriots and Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints easily rank as the top three. All set passing records, led the league in statistical categories and, in one case, led their team to the Super Bowl. It's safe to say that these three leaders are nearly guaranteed to one day reach the Pro Football Hall of Fame, if not go down as some of the best quarterbacks of all time.
But it's not just the superstars that should get all the credit. Plenty of other NFL quarterbacks held their own during the season, even when their teams maybe didn't. Take Tony Romo for example. His Dallas Cowboys finished the 2011 season 8-8 and didn't make the playoffs yet Romo tallied over 4,000 passing yards and 31 touchdowns. Matthew Stafford of the Detroit Lions helped his team squeak into the sixth seed for the 2011 NFL playoffs with a 10-6 record all while Stafford topped 5,000 passing yards, 400 completions and 40 touchdowns.
History can only be an indicator of so much though. Sure the top quarterbacks from the 2011 NFL season will likely see success in 2012, there's a whole group of others, such as the new Denver Bronco Peyton Manning and Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton, ready to compete for the title of the best NFL quarterback of 2012.
