I'm not sure there IS a TV show this guy hasn't been on. And if there is, well, he's been in plenty of movies too. Possibly the character actor of character actors. You hear his name, but you have no clue who he is. You see his face and then suddenly it's like "OH! THAT guy". But then, I dare you to remember WHAT you saw him in.

Vincent Schiavelli

Does Vincent count? Everyone knows him. Ah, but does everyone know his NAME? Hence, he becomes "that guy". Sure, you know he was in Ghost.. and that Xfiles epside where his brother lived inside his gut (ew).. his voice has graced countless cartoons, but I bet most would be hard pressed to spell his name, and if you saw it on a star in hollywood, I bet you would wrinkle up your brow and say "It SOUNDS familiar...."

Doesn't just LOOK like a bad guy? Maybe that's why he always plays one. Dudes, he was on the ATeam... doesn't that immediately qualify him for 'that guy' status? The Fall Guy, too! TJ HOOKER. I bet you can guess that he played the gambit from bad cop to bad drug dealer to bad politian to bad all-around-bad guy.

Not to be confused with another guy, Keith David. Also a 'that guy', but perhaps not as widespread in his portrayal of the same general type of guy. Men of Honor, U571, Officer and a Gentlemen... see the theme here? Military guy. Who needs a cleft-chinned guy for the military? I know just the man.

Not to be confused with David Keith. Always an angry guy, or the stern tough guy, sometimes in the military, sometimes a cop, always a guy you feel it's in your best interest to pay attention to. Plus if/when there's a list for "It's that Voice" he'd be number one, lending his deep resonant stylings to tons of docs (including the entire Ken Burns' Jazz), cartoons, and videogames.

There's always gonna be "that guy" who gets tagged for the ubiquitous "foreign" guy. Erick Avari is your man for the job. Is he greek? Egyptian? Some kind of mediterranean guy? What about a generic alien on a sci fi show? He was 'ethnic' in Daredevil, 13th Warrior, The Mummy and some alien dude on the sci fi show Stargate. Slap a turban on this guy and set up the shot!

Because of Deadwood, I almost don't want to put Jeffrey here. He was so awesome on that show (as was everyone) that it kind of elevated him to a place where I could remember his actual name. But I know not everyone saw Deadwood (shame!) and so he's probably always going to be that a*****e principal in Ferris Buller's Day Off. He was in other stuff, too, but instead of having a name... he's going to be "that guy".... "that guy in Ferris Buller's Day Off".

David Morse

I admit that I have a deep love for David Morse. I do actually know his name, but I included him here because I bet most you don't. He was the guy who betrayed Hummel in The Rock. He was that a*****e cop in that House storyline last season. He even had his own show for a brief time on the networks. He makes everything he goes on seem better. I heart him... but he is totally "that guy".
