The best "Transformers" movie quotes are made possible from the genius of Michael Bay and Steven Speilberg combined with the 1980s animated series and toys to create the series of live-action films. Starting in 2007, "Transformers" leapt from the small screen and action figures to the big screen to bring fans summer blockbusters in 2007, 2009 and 2011.
While many of the Transformers themselves, including the great Optimus Prime, spoke many of these "Transformers" quotes, others were uttered by leading actors Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox, at least until before Fox was very publicly replaced by another actress, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, for the third film.
Optimus Prime: "You may lose your faith in us, but never in yourselves. From here, the fight will be your own."
Giving a pep talk to the humans in "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," Optimus Prime sets the stage for an epic battle between the humans and the Decepticons. It sounds like Optimus and the Autobots will not be helping fend off the angry Decepticons, but that sounds a bit far fetched doesn't it?
Jetfire: "My ancestors have been here for generations. My father was a wheel! The first wheel! And do you know what he transformed into? Nothing!! But he did it with honor! Dignity, damn it!"
As Jetfire explains in "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," times they are a changin' and kids these days sure don't appreciate what previous generations went through to get here. Clearly this life lesson applies not just to humans, but to Transformers as well, who in the past transformed into nothing, but did it proudly.
Optimus Prime: "Everything humans know of our planet we were told had been shared. You lied to us. You've made a grave mistake."
Apparently Transformers don't appreciate deception. Cue the violent battle scenes and the CGI for the fight of all fights in "Transformers: Dark of the Moon."
Sam Witwicky: That's stupid. That was a stupid line. "There's more than meets the eye with you." Stupid.
After dropping a lame line on Mikaela, Sam pouts in his car as he watches her walk away. Using the line of "more than meets the eye" to describe this difficult female, Sam in turn also revives the classic "Transformers" slogan widely used to advertise the toys and shows during the initial run. So clever!
Ironhide: "You have a rodent infestation." Sam Witwicky: "A what?" Ironhide: Shall "I terminate?" Sam Witwicky: "No! No! This is a chihuahua. We love chihuahuas." Ironhide: "He's leaked lubricants all over my foot! Hmmph!" Sam Witwicky: "He peed on you? Bad Mojo! Bad!" Ironhide: "Bad Mojo! Ugh, my foot's gonna rust..."
Adding a bit of humor to your classic action movie, Ironhide learns about dogs in this quote from the first "Transformers" film. Unfortunately it came from Sam's chihuahua Mojo who peed, or as Ironhide called it lubricated, all over his foot.
Sam Witwicky: "Bee, I want to talk to you about the college thing, okay?" Bumblebee: "I'm so excited, And I just can't hide it..." Sam Witwicky: "Hey! I'm not taking you with me!" Mikaela Banes: "I'm gonna wait outside..." Sam Witwicky: "Bumblebee, just hear me out okay? You know, freshmen aren't allowed to have cars, that's all it is. It is best for both of us. I know it doesn't sound like it but... you're an Autobot, you shouldn't be living in my dad's garage. I mean you're suffocating in here. Hey will you look at me please? Hey, come on big guy... " Sam Witwicky: "Look, the guardian thing is done, okay? You did your job. It's over with. You've gotta be something else, you've got have a bigger purpose then just me, Bee! I can't be the end all deal in your life! I wanna be normal, I want to go to college. Everybody has this, and I should be able to experience this. And I can't do that with you." Sam Witwicky: "Come on... it's not the last time I'm gonna see you, you know? Come on, don't do that... Bee, you're killing me..." Sam Witwicky: "You'll always be my first car man. I love you."
Poor Sam, not only does he have to deal with his parents at the beginning of "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" when he goes off to college, but also his dear friend, or car, or both, Bumblebee.
Optimus Prime: ""Are you Samuel James Witwicky, descendant of Archibald Witwicky?" Mikaela Banes: ""They know your name!" Sam Witwicky: ""Yeah." Optimus: ""My name is Optimus Prime. We are Autonomous Robotic Organisms from the planet Cybertron." Ratchet: ""But you can call us ""Autobots"" for short." Sam: ""Autobots." Jazz: ""What's crackin', lil' bitches? " Optimus: ""My first lieutenant. Designation: Jazz." Jazz: ""This looks like a cool place to kick it!" Sam: ""What is that? How did he learn to talk like that?" Optimus: ""We've learned Earth's languages through the World Wide Web. My weapons specialist, Ironhide." Ironhide: ""You feeling lucky, punk?" Optimus: ""Easy, Ironhide." Ironhide: ""Just kidding, I just wanted to show him my cannons." Optimus: ""Our medical officer, Ratchet." Ratchet: ""The boy's pheromone levels suggest he wants to mate with the female." Optimus: ""You already know your guardian, Bumblebee." Bumblebee: ""Check to the rep/Yep, second to none." Sam: ""Bumblebee, right? You're my guardian, huh?" Ratchet: ""His vocal processors were damaged in battle. I'm still working on them." Mikaela: ""Why are you here?" Optimus: ""We are here looking for the All Spark, and we must find it before Megatron." Sam: ""Mega-what?" Optimus: ""Our planet was once a powerful empire, peaceful and just, until we were betrayed by Megatron, leader of the Decepticons. All who defied them were destroyed. Our war finally consumed the planet, and the Allspark was lost to the stars. Megatron followed it to Earth, where Captain Witwicky found him." Sam: ""My grandfather...?" Optimus: ""It was an accident that intertwined our fates. Megatron crash-landed before he could retreive the Cube. He accidentally activated his navigation system. The coordinates to the Cube's location on Earth were inprinted on his glasses." Sam: ""How did you know about his glasses?" Optimus: ""eBay." Sam: ""eBay..."
This scene from the first ""Transformers"" live-action movie brought us not only a laugh, but allowed Sam (and the movie audience) to meet the Transformers and learn more about them. It also presented a little-known fact about Transformers, they know ALL about the Internet.
Optimus Prime: "Before time began, there was...the Cube. We know not where it comes from, only that it holds the power to create worlds and fill them with life. That is how our race was born. For a time we lived in harmony, but like all great power, some wanted it for good...others for evil. And so, began the war. A war that ravaged our planet until it was consumed by death. And the Cube was lost to the far reaches of space. We scattered across the galaxy, hoping to find it and rebuild our home. Searching every star, every world. And just when all hope seemed lost, message of a new discovery drew us to an unknown planet called...Earth. But we were already too late."
Giving a preview of what would become the traditional way to open and close each live-action "Transformers" movie, Optimus Prime opened the first "Transformers" film with this speech. Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots, would go on to start and end each of the films with similar words of wisdom.
Optimus Prime: "For now, the Decepticon legions are vanguished. And fate has yielded its reward- A new world to call home. We live amongst its people now, hiding in plain site...But watching over them in secret. Waiting. Protecting. I have witnessed their capacity for courage. And though we are worlds apart, like us, there is more to them then meets the eye. I am Optimus Prime. And I send this message to any Autobots seeking refuge amongst the stars. You are not alone. We are here. We are waiting."
The first "Transformers" film ended just as it began, with another voice-over from head Autobot Optimus Prime. Of course he celebrated the victory over the Decepticons, but he definitely hinted that this war was just getting started. Hidden message: Yes, there will be a sequel.
Optimus Prime: "Our races, united by a history long forgotten, and a f*ture we shall face together. I am Optimus Prime, and I send this message so that our past will always be remembered. For in these memories, we live on."
Spoken to end "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," Optimus Prime once again closes one chapter in the "Transformers" film series and leaves the door wide open for a third film with the words "we live on."
Buzz Aldrin: "You cannot believe what we are seeing..." Mission Control: "We are not alone, after all, are we?" Buzz Aldrin: "No, sir. We are not alone."
Teased in one of the first trailers for "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," we learn a bit of history on the Transformers, including that they were discovered way back by the Apollo 11 crew members during a secret rendezvous on the moon. Cue the moon landing conspiracy theorists.
Megatron: "Is the f*ture of our race not worth a single human life?" Optimus Prime: "You'll never stop at one. I'LL TAKE YOU ALL ON!"
In one of the better fight scenes from "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," Optimus Prime has some choice words for Megatron during the epic forest battle. Protecting Sam and the rest of the humans, Optimus throws down the gauntlet against the Decepticons, vowing to take them all on at once.
Optimus Prime: "Earth, birthplace of the human race. A species much like our own, capable of great compassion and great violence. For in our quest to protect the humans, a deeper revelation dawns: our worlds have met before..."
Opening "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," Optimus Prime provides a bit of history on just how long the Transformers have been working to protect the human race. You may have never seen Transformers in real life, but rest assured that they've been here since 17,000 B.C.
