They took what Everquest had done and perfected it for the casual gamer. Suddenly you could do in 40 hours what used to take 140. Brilliant concept and design by blizzard and best of all, no more corpse runs!

I still remember playing with a friend online and I typed to him. Wow, the ambient sound on this game is awesome. Do you hear those birds chirping? He said, yeah... wait a minute... That was when we both realized that those birds were not on the game. We had stayed up all night playing this game and the chirping birds were outside our respective windows. Not too many games could keep me up the entire night, but this one did.

Tough to pick just one Mario. I played the heck out of all of them up to Mario 64, but this one gets the prize. At a time when the Nintendo console was waning, this game breathed new life into it, and was better than I thought an NES game could be. Though I loved almost every Mario gaome in the series, the Tanooki suit pushes this one over the top.

I love the hit stick and truck stick, but I have to go back to the halcyon days when your player looked like c**p but you played for 12 hours straight anyway. Thurman Thomas was almost impossible to tackle, Barry Sanders was lightning fast, and if you played against the all madden team you needed at least 8 guys to tackle Walter Payton. When a wide receiver broke away from the pack he would run regular for a while, but then if he got what we called "funny pants" jaggies in his legs you knew he was gone, and no one could stop him from scoring a touchdown.

Remember the slippery spot on the ice, where you're character would inexplicably speed up? Remember the move, that worked every time and in later editions 60 percent of the time, worked every time? Remember when they finally intro'ed one timers? Remember how you had to guess if the another player would get impulsive and take over the goalie, because you used a completely different set of moves to beat a player than you did to beat the computer? Remember the brutal fights and the way players would writhe on the ice when injured. What a GAME!
