Directed by Edgar Wright and starring the always funny Simon Pegg. This movie does what most of us think about when watching traditional zombie movies. I mean come on, they're slow, why not chuck records at their heads while waiting for them to eat you. If you love zombie movies you have to see this one!

I second Shaun of the Dead as numero uno, but I recommend a 2006 movie:"Black Sheep" should be on the list. In this movie an experiment in genetic engineering turns harmless sheep into blood-thirsty killers that terrorize a sprawling New Zealand farm. It plays for laughs.

for gods sake take the second shaun of the dead off the list, it wasn't any good!nnanyway... you forgot two excellent zom-comedies that are terrific.n1. Wasting Away (2007) A.K.A. Ahh Zombies!nthis was a great movie because not only did it break zombie barries but it also was genuine comedy, not just random nut busting trash seen in any run-of-the-mill cheep comedy movie. n2. Zombies of Mass Destruction (2009) was an absolutly terrible movie. it is the epitomy of nut busting trash seen today... but we all love that! not to mention the effects are not to shabby either. not grade A but just good enough to say, "yea, i guess that would be scary if i were high..." its a great movie to watch with friends.

  maybe you didn't like Shaun of the Dead because it was more dry humor than anything. but yes! zombies of mass destruction was so hilariously bad but sadly few people know about this movie. lol if you were high.

I would say Dance of the Dead as well. I rented it, knowing it would be cheesy, but I seriously laughed the whole way through it. Zombies that are stopped by hard rock music? Nickelback wouldn't stand a chance.

two words: Zombie Strippers. It's campy, stupid, full of naked p**n stars, and has some pretty damn good gore. I also third the motion of "Evil Dead" not being a zombie movie. Same thing goes for "28 Days/Weeks Later", in case it comes up.

I would argue that Evil Dead is not a zombie movie, so much as it's a possession/horror movie. The kids are possessed by spirits, they're not turned into zombies. That said, it's still a fantastic cult classic and I applaud any publicity it receives.
