Lists of famous libertarians. The Libertarian party is the third largest in the United States, and growing. Libertarians are effectively socially liberal and fiscally conservative, but that might be an over-generalization. First and foremost, libertarians believe in the rights of the individual, that individuals "have the right to live in whatever manner they choose, so long as they do not forcibly interfere with the equal right of others to live in whatever manner they choose." (Quoted from their party platform.) As with any American political party, if it's to be mainstream then it needs celebrities who champion it. While it's nigh impossible to find out which political party any individual is actually registered with, the people on these lists have openly supported and/or exhibited libertarian ideals.
