I have been a silversmith for 30-years. I trained at the London Guildhall University and now own and run my business Hersey & Son - Silversmiths. The company bases its production on silver spinning. The spinner starts with a circle of silver which is then formed over a pre-made chuck to give the shape of the object to be made. It is a highly skilled job taking about five years to perfect. Because of the high quality of the initial silver circle and the process of spinning that further burnishes the silver, the end result is of the highest quality. I also make a range of sterling silver jewellery. For men, various designs of cufflinks and silver torques and for ladies, silver bangles, chain bracelet and necklaces.
