Alan Murphy

Alan Murphy (born October 3, 1981 in Ballinrobe) is an Irish footballer currently playing for Galway United in the League of Ireland. He is also a teacher in St. Joseph's Patrician College in Galway. Alan plays in midfield or upfront and joined Galway United from Derry City before the 2006 season began. He joined Derry in 2004 making 59 appearances and scoring 11 goals. Prior to this, he had his first period at Galway where he was a prolific goal scorer and a fans favourite. Murphy was top goal scorer for three seasons running and is currently Galway United's 2nd all time scorer with 64 goals.
