Albert J. Simone

Dr. Albert Joseph Simone (born December, 1935 in Boston, MA) is a former president of the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Rochester, New York, USA. Simone earned his Bachelor of Arts from Tufts in 1957, and his PhD from MIT in 1962. He served as dean of the College of Business Administration at the University of Cincinnati from 1972 to 1983. He was the President of the University of Hawaii at Manoa from 1984 to 1992. As President at Manoa, Simone lobbied for greater independence from the Hawaiian legislature’s control in order to retain accreditation.
