Amanda Goad

Amanda Goad (born March 13, 1979) was the winner of the 1992 Scripps National Spelling Bee, where she represented The Richmond News Leader. Her winning word was lyceum, which is defined as either "a public hall designed for lectures or concerts" or "a school at a stage between elementary school and college". In 1996, Goad was a contestant in the Jeopardy! Teen Tournament. At the end of the two-game finals, she and fellow finalist Derek Bridges had identical final two-game totals of $31,200.
