Ancoats Hospital

The Ancoats Hospital was a large inner-city hospital, located in Ancoats, to the north of Manchester, England, city centre. The hospital was built in 1873 to serve the densely-populated districts of north and east Manchester. Located between Old Mill Street and the Ashton Canal, the building, which is grade II listed, is currently under active threat of demolition after the developer, Urban Splash, claimed that it was unable to find an economically viable use for it. Urban Splash's application for listed building demolition is currently being considered by Manchester City Council.
