Anfield Cemetery

Anfield Cemetery, also known as the City of Liverpool Cemetery, is on Priory Road, Anfield, Liverpool, England (grid reference SJ365940). It opened in 1896. It covers an area of some 110 acres (45 ha) and includes axial and circular paths, two chapels and a Gothic style catacomb. The layout of the cemetery was designed by Edward Kemp. The cemetery is adjacent to Stanley Park and close to the stadiums of Everton F.C. and Liverpool F.C. football clubs.Bill Shankly, manager of Liverpool FC from 1959 to 1974, was cremated there following his death in 1981.
