Auburn Pridemore

Auburn Lorenzo Pridemore (June 27, 1837 – May 17, 1900) was a nineteenth century politician and lawyer from Virginia. Born in Scott County, Virginia, Pridemore received a limited education as a child and completed preparatory studies. During the Civil War, he raised a company of volunteer infantry for the Confederate Army and served as its captain until June, 1862 when promoted to major and later lieutenant colonel Infantry and colonel of Cavalry. He commanded the 64th Virginia Cavalry until the end of the war and afterwards was elected to the Virginia House of Delegates in 1865, but Reconstruction prevented him from taking seat.
