Avon Lake

Avon Lake is a city in Lorain County, Ohio, United States. The population was 18,145 at the 2000 census. Avon Lake is located at 41°30′6″N 82°0′23″W / 41.50167°N 82.00639°W / 41.50167; -82.00639 (41.501595, -82.006309). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 11.1 square miles (29 km), all of it land. Avon Lake was designated a Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation. As of the census of 2000, there were 18,145 people, 6,711 households, and 5,133 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,630.0 people per square mile (629.5/km²).
