Barry B. Levine

Barry B. Levine (born 1941) is an American academic and founding professor of Sociology at the Florida International University. Levine received his B.A. in 1961 from the University of Pennsylvania and his Ph.D in 1973 from the New School for Social Research. He held a teaching position at the University of Puerto Rico for seven years before leaving for FIU in 1972. He is well liked by his students because of his charismatic lecture style and witty sense of humor, as well as his regard for Sociologist Max Weber.
