Baruch Maoz

Baruch Maoz (born December 31, 1943 in Boston, Massachusetts) is an Israeli author. A Jewish convert to Christianity, he was a leader of the Israeli-Christian movement and the author of Judaism is not Jewish: A Friendly Critique of the Messianic Movement. Maoz argues that the movement of Messianic Jews (Jews who convert to Christianity while remaining observant of some Talmudic traditions) "has allowed rabbinic tradition to overshadow the Bible" (Tom Wells, The King's Chapel, West Chester, Ohio). Moaz' theology is Calvinist. Baruch is the eldest son to a first generation Jewish parents whose parents fled the Pale in Russia in order to escape the Pogroms toward the end of the last century.
