Batten Kill

The Batten Kill, or Battenkill, or the Battenkill River, is a 59.4-mile-long (95.6 km) river rising in Vermont that flows into New York and is a tributary of the Hudson River. As "Kill" means river, it is grammatically redundant to call it the "Battenkill River". The mouth of the Batten Kill is in Easton, New York, and the source of the river is in East Dorset, Vermont. The river is known for its fishing, as it has a prominent trout population. The Shushan Covered Bridge crosses it at one point, and the headquarters of the Orvis Corporation are also located along its course.
