Bert E. Haney

Bert Emery Haney, alternately Bert Emory Haney (April 10, 1879 – September 18, 1943), was an American attorney and jurist from Oregon. A native of Oregon, he served as United States Attorney for the Oregon District before becoming a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. A Democrat, he also served on the United States Shipping Board and was an unsuccessful candidate for the United States Senate in 1926. Bert Haney was born on April 10, 1879 in Lafayette, Yamhill County, Oregon. The son of John Haney and Mary Haney (née Harris), he attended the local public schools in Lafayette.
