Betsey Bayless

Betsey Bayless was the Republican Secretary of State of Arizona from September 5, 1997 until January 6, 2003. She was appointed to fill the unexpired term of Jane Dee Hull. She was elected to a full term November 3, 1998. Bayless was born in Phoenix, Arizona, and is a third generation Arizonan. She holds a bachelor's degree in Latin American Studies and Spanish from the University of Arizona, where, as a Phi Beta Kappa, she received the Freeman Medal as outstanding graduate in 1966. She earned her masters degree in Public Administration at Arizona State University.
