Black Bison

Black Bison is the name of two DC Comics supervillains. The first Black Bison, also known as Bison-Black-as-Midnight-Sky, is a great shaman in his tribe and capable of amazing magical feats which benefit his people known as the Bison Cult. As an old man he lives with his great-grandson John Ravenhair, and resents his descendant's disrespect for their traditions. Bison-Black-as-Midnight-Sky is killed by muggers in Central Park, but not before binding his spirit to a magical amulet. After his death, the amulet allows him to possess the body of his descendant John Ravenhair. He first appears in Fury of Firestorm #1 (June 1982).
