Burma VJ: Reporting from a Closed Country

Burma VJ: Reporting from a Closed Country is a 2008 Danish documentary film directed by Anders Østergaard. It follows the September 2007 protests against the military regime in Burma. Some of it was filmed on hand-held cameras. The footage was smuggled out of the country, physically or over the Internet. Other parts of it were reconstructed, which caused controversy. In association with the European culture channel ARTE, the winner will be presented at the 22nd European Film Awards Ceremony on Saturday, 12 December, in Bochum/Germany.
