Burnhamthorpe Road

Burnhamthorpe Road is an east-west route running through the cities of Toronto, Mississauga and the Town of Oakville, Ontario. The road was named after the birth place of settler John Abelson, Burnham Thorpe. The eastern end of the roadway starts at Dundas Street West in the Village of Islington, Toronto, but most of the road is in Mississauga. The Toronto portion runs in a well established residential neighbourhood. The western end of the roadway is broken up by Sixteen Mile Creek and Highway 407 in Oakville, Ontario and is a rural route surrounded by farm land and large residential properties.
