Charles E. Rosenberg

Charles E. Rosenberg (born November 11, 1936) is an American Professor of the History of Science and the Ernest E. Monrad Professor in the Social Sciences at Harvard University. Born in New York City, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1956. He received both his Master's degree (1957) and Ph.D.(1961) from Columbia University. He taught at the University of Pennsylvania from 1963 until 2001. In that year, he moved to Harvard University. He served as acting chair of Harvard’s History of Science department in 2003-2004. He is married to Drew Gilpin Faust, president of Harvard University.
