Chonita Coleman

Chonita Coleman (born in 1972 in Portsmouth, Virginia) is an American singer-songwriter. In 1993 Chonita went to New York and live in a two story house with the Swing Mob Crew called the Bassment. While there, Coleman, Missy Elliott, LaShawn Shellman, and Radiah Scott wrote many songs for their group, Sista. Chonita attended I.C. Norcom High School. She was friends with Missy Elliott, even though Elliott did not attend I.C. Norcom. In the 1990 Missy Elliott, LaShawn Shellman, Chonita Coleman, and Radiah Scott formed an R&B group called Sista, for which Elliott served as a singer and songwriter.
