Daniel Killingsworth

Daniel Killingsworth (June 1, 1835 - September 15, 1862) was a lawyer and Confederate officer. Killingsworth was born in Fayette, Alabama, in 1835. He was an early graduate of the University of Alabama. When the American Civil War began he was a farmer in Fayette, Alabama. He married Mary Ann Lamar in July 1861. Killingsworth was mustered into Company G, th Mississippi Volunteer Infantry Regiment, elected Captain on August 3, 1861. He was elected major of the Regiment on November 16, Lieutenant-Colonel January 18, 1862, and finally to Colonel, May 10, 1862.
