David Biespiel

David Biespiel (born February 18, 1964) is an American poet who was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, raised in Houston, Texas, and educated at Stanford University, University of Maryland, and Boston University. He is the founder of the Attic Institute in Portland, Oregon, an independent literary studio that is the home for creative writing workshops and individual consultations for over 500 writers each year. David Biespiel—pronounced buy-speel—attended Beth Yeshurun, the oldest Jewish school in Houston.
