DENSO Corporation (株式会社デンソー, Kabushiki-gaisha Densō) (TYO: 6902) is a global automotive components manufacturer headquartered in the city of Kariya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. Established December 16, 1949 as Nippondenso Co. Ltd. (日本電装株式会社, Nippon Densō Kabushiki-gaisha), in 1996 the company became DENSO Corporation worldwide. DENSO is a member of the Toyota Group of companies. The company is known for creating the QR Code, a two-dimensional barcoding system which is particularly prevalent in Japan.
