Elder 'The Pit' Stadium

Elder 'The Pit' Stadium is home to the Elder High School Panthers. The solid poured concrete stadium was built about 1947 and seats 10,000 people. Construction was completed about 1947, having begun in the 1930's by students and parents of students of the high school. The stands are about 5 yards from the field sidelines, keeping the action up close to the spectators. Much of the stadium sits down in the ground with the backyards of several houses on the home side butting right up to the stadium. Several homes have decks that over look the stadium and host gatherings before, during and after games.
