Elliot Carver

Elliot Carver is a fictional character and the main antagonist in the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies. In the film, he is portrayed by Welsh actor Jonathan Pryce. Screenwriter Bruce Feirstein modelled the character on Robert Maxwell, but many viewers analysed Carver as a satirical take on Rupert Murdoch. Carver's character also had basis in American newspaper magnate and leading newspaper publisher William Randolph Hearst, whom Carver quotes towards the climax. Elliot Carver was born in Hong Kong.
