Federal Correctional Institution, Ray Brook is a medium security prison for males located in Ray Brook, northern New York, USA. The prison, part of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, is located in the Town of North Elba in Essex County. It is home to approximately 1,200 inmates. FCI Ray Brook employs 328 and is one of the largest employers in the northern Adirondack region. It is 3.5 miles (5.6 km) southeast of Saranac Lake and 6 miles (9.7 km) west of Lake Placid.
