Foyle and Londonderry College

In 2010, the Governors of the College, without any consultation with Parents of pupils, the pupils themselves and the Londonderry High School Old Girls Association, decided to 'rebrand' the College, dropping the word Londonderry from the College title. This change was cloaked in secrecy and did not become knowledge for the parents etc until the story was broken by the 'Londonderry Sentinel' in August 2010. This change has upset many people and is believed to be in breach of the 'Foyle and Londonderry College Act 1976.' The reason for this change is believed to be a response of the proposed move of the School site to the East Bank of Londonderry and the building of a new college.
