Fred Thompson
Frederick "Fred" or "Rangi" Houghton Thompson (30 March 1910 – 1971) was a New Zealand rower. He was born in Christchurch. Thompson won a silver medal at the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles in the coxless pairs event with partner Cyril Stiles. As crew member of the New Zealand boat Thompson was eliminated in the repêchage of the eights competition. He also won two medals in the eights at the Empire Games, silver in 1930 at Hamilton and bronze in 1938 at Sydney. [ Read More at Wikipedia ]
